Poland opposes above-national migration policies, is willing to help expand the EU's defence policy and wants welfare policy to remain in the hands of the member states, deputy Foreign Minister Konrad Szymanski said in Brussels on Monday. Szymanski, in Brussels for a meeting of EU European affairs ministers pending the December EU summit on defence, migration and welfare policy, said after the talks that Poland was prepared to help expand the EU's defence policy provided such undertakings remained in harmony with similar efforts on the NATO level.
