Poche becomes external aide to foreign minister

November 2nd, 2018

MEP Miroslav Poche has become an external aide to new Czech Foreign Minister Tomas Petricek. Poche will be part of a broader team of about 10-12 people. He will largely focus on European policy affairs, Petricek told the press. At first, the Social Democrats proposed Poche as the foreign minister. However, President Milos Zeman refused him, arguing that Poche had a positive approach to migration. In September, Social Democrat leader Jan Hamacek dropped Poche's nomination, proposing Petricek instead. Petricek said Poche had signed the contract on Thursday.
