Plzen-based Czech sculptor and teacher Benedikt Tolar used land art to portray the fate of eleven German families from the abandoned village of Bugellohe forced to leave their homes after 1945, the artist's manager Zdenka Kucerova told CTK. "I was roughly aware of the fate of the location, but I would never be able to connect with it without the shared experience of a person who was a part of the story. The place with the ruins of the abandoned village is still very strong and I knew right away that creatively, my work must be a clean and clear symbol of its story," Tolar said.
