The Czech opposition Pirates will run together with Mayors and Independents (STAN) in the October 8-9 general election, based on their coalition pact backed by 668 out of the 848 Pirate members who joined the party's online vote on the project. The Pirates' broad leadership approved the agreement last week. The Pirates rank-and-file voted on it from Friday to Monday. To succeed, the project needed to be supported by 60 percent of the voting members at least. It was backed by almost 79 percent of them, while alternative proposals for the plan to be discussed by other party bodies was supported by 21 percent of the voting members at the most.
