Pellegrini: Kazimir's statement was call for discussion within party

The Smer-SD party should openly evaluate the meaning of the outcome of the election, starting an intensive internal party discussion and investigating the causes, Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini said during his visit to Trnava on Monday in reference to the result of the presidential election and a statement made by Smer-SD vice-chair Peter Kazimir. Kazimir, who is currently serving as finance minister, voiced disagreement with his party's claim that it emerged strengthened from the 2019 presidential election. "I don't think we should pass through the election with such an 'easy' statement," Pellegrini said. "We should talk about what to do next within the party in order to preserve its position as the strongest and most successful party."
