Part of Czech local politicians' property statements not to be public

April 20th, 2018

Data on the movable assets and liabilities of Czech local politicians will remain part of their property statements, but these data will not be available to the public, under an amendment to the law on the conflict of interest that the Czech Chamber of Deputies passed on Friday. Representatives of villages who are not paid for their municipal work will publicly release only information on the real estate they own and posts they occupy in firms. Other local representatives will also release their incomes and securities, but not their movables and obligations, according to the amendment.
