Parbeszed calls on Orban to sign defence cooperation agreement with US

The opposition Parbeszed has called on Prime Minister Viktor Orban to sign a Hungarian-US inter-governmental agreement on defence cooperation without any delay. Timea Szabo, the party's co-leader, told a press conference on Tuesday that following 18 months of talks, Orban was still "unwilling to sign" the document. Press reports about Orban telling US Ambassador David Cornstein last year that he wanted Hungary "to remain neutral like Austria" give reason for concern, Szabo said. Orban's remarks suggest that he wants Hungary to quit NATO, she added.
