In a keynote speech, Prime Minister Viktor Orban insisted that Hungary's 2018 general election would decide whether Hungarian citizens continue to enjoy self-determination. "Do we want to preserve our achievements and Hungary's status as a non-immigration country or yield to pressure ... and let others turn us once again into a subservient, immigrant nation deprived of its own culture and Christian traditions," Orban told the annual assembly of the Hungarian Diaspora Council. "The forces for creating a United States of Europe" had an agenda in importing other cultures and people in dismal situations into Europe, he said.
