Polish opposition party Civic Platform (PO) evacuated its offices in eight cities after it received threatening e-mails. The premises were later declared safe by police following bomb inspections. Borys told PAP the evacuations had been conducted after e-mails were received stating: "Today the headquarters of your deceitful party will ... burn in the fire of hell. The bomb is ticking." The e-mails were sent to regional offices in Poznan (western Poland), Szczecin (northern Poland), Białystok (northeastern Poland), Lodl (central Poland), Lublin (eastern Poland), Krakow (southern Poland) and Katowice (southern Poland). Police conducted checks of the premises having earlier evacuated people from neighbouring buildings. The offices were subsequently declared safe. "We're treating these threats seriously, especially after what happened in Gdansk..." said Piotr Borys, the head of PO's national office,
