Grzegorz Schetyna, the leader of Poland's main opposition party Civic Platform (PO), said on Wednesday that his party might ask its former leader and incumbent European Council president, Donald Tusk, to run in the next presidential election. Speaking to a Polish private TV news channel, Grzegorz Schetyna said that PO plans "to win the local elections, win the European elections, win the parliamentary elections" and then perhaps suggest to Tusk, "as he returns from Brussels," that he become PO's presidential candidate. Schetyna added, at the same time, that it was up to Tusk "to decide whether to continue his European career or return to Poland".
