One fourth of disability pensions go to mentally ill in 2017

August 13th, 2018

One quarter of disability pensions were paid out to mentally ill people and those with behavioral disorders last year, of whom there were more than 100,000 in the country, according to the statistical figures released by the Czech Social Administration Authority (CSSZ). The overall number of people on disability pension stood slightly over 424,000 last year. One in five Czechs faced a mental illness sometimes in their lives, but only fewer than a half received the relevant medical treatment, according to the statistics.
