Okamura apologises for Holocaust denial

February 15th, 2018

Tomio Okamura, leader of the eurosceptic Freedom and Direct Democracy party (SPD), apologised for questioning the suffering of the Roma during the Holocaust in a letter sent to the Prague Jewish Community daily Lidove noviny (LN) wrote on Thursday. Okamura has not apologised to Roma representatives. Earlier this month, Cenek Ruzicka, chairman of the Committee for the Compensation to the Roma Holocaust, filed a criminal complaint against Okamura and deputy Miloslav Rozner (SPD) for casting doubt on the suffering of the inmates in the Lety concentration camp in southern Bohemia.
