ODS wants to postpone VAT payment

April 21st, 2020

The Czech opposition Civic Democratic Party (ODS) has proposed that the payment of VAT be postponed until January, the payment to welfare systems should be lowered and all services be placed among payers with a lower, 10-percent VAT rate, party leader Petr Fiala told CTK today. This should happen on account of the long-term impact of the coronavirus epidemic. The government has absolutely failed in the aid to businesspeople and companies, Fiala said. The coronavirus is killing people, while the Czech government is killing the Czech economy, he said.
