Number of foreigners with residence permits in Poland on rise - office

In the first half of the year, the number of foreigners with valid residence permits in Poland increased by 27,000 to 400,000, the Office for Foreigners has said in a statement. The majority of foreigners with valid residence permits were citizens of Ukraine, Belarus and Georgia. Immigration to Poland is mainly complementary to the needs of the labour market. According to the office, there were 325,000 foreigners with residency permits on January 1, 2018. This number stood at 372,000 on January 1, 2019 and is currently at 400,000.
