NGO estimates number of prostitutes in Czechia at 13,000

Some 13,000 women provide paid sexual services in the Czech Republic, the group Pleasure without Risk (R-R) said today, adding that over one half are single mothers. R-R combats prejudices about prostitutes which often stop women from reporting rape or assault. The average age of prostitutes is 30 and 82 percent of them are Czech, the organisation said, while warning that the numbers might be distorted.
