The murdered man who was found near Nova Pec, south Bohemia, in late November, was a 69-year-old German, whose identity was revealed thanks to his artificial hip joint, regional police spokesman Jiri Matzner told CTK on Wednesday. The man came from the Straubing-Bogen district in Bavaria. Czech detectives sent a request for help to identify the body to hospitals all over Europe, Matzner said. "The hospital where the man had undergone a hip replacement contacted us, and so we were able to identify him," he added.
