Most Czechs for bonuses to workers hit by coal exit - Greenpeace

April 29th, 2021

Two-thirds of people support retirement allowances for the workers of coal mines and coal-fired power plants who would lose jobs over the planned coal exit in the Czech Republic, according to a Kantar poll for the Greenpeace organisation that presented its results at a press conference today. It was attended by representatives of the DUHA (Friends of the Earth) movement, the Czech Energy Industry Trade Union and the Centre for Transport and Energy. They called on the government to pay blanket retirement allowances to miners and workers in the energy industry hit by the future coal exit.
