Medzany man who interrupted election given 1-year suspended sentence

Presov District Court on Monday sentenced a 43-year-old man who snatched a cardboard ballot box from a polling station in Medzany and broke it up on the street to one year imprisonment with a two-year probation period, district court spokesperson Ivana Petrufova confirmed for TASR. The man is a member of the local council. The ruling is binding with no appeal allowed. The polling station in Medzany had to close its doors for one hour and sixteen minutes due to the incident.
