Poland's left is planning a joint list for this year's EP elections, Adam Zandberg from the Together Party said on Tuesday. At a press conference attended by representatives of several left-wing groups, Zandberg said the plan was to "build an open left-wing block" from groups standing to the left of Poland's main oppositionist Civic Platform (PO). Zandberg observed that the planned left-wing list provided a feasible alternative to current ruling party Law and Justice (PiS) and PO, which he described as "a choice between an authoritarian right and a liberal right." He added that success in the EP ballot could translate into a later victory in this year's parliamentary elections.
