Kiska refuses to sign bill on new way of selecting police chief

December 17th, 2018

President Andrej Kiska on Monday repeatedly refused to sign an amendment to the Police Corps Act, which he vetoed earlier, but Parliament re-approved it last week, with the aim of selecting the national police chief according to new rules. The Interior Ministry-sponsored bill will now enter into force even without Kiska's approval.
