President Andrej Kiska on Thursday granted conditional amnesty to a mother, 31, whose 9-year-old son is suffering from an untreatable oncological illness and other serious illnesses, the press department of the President's Office has said. The amnesty was extended to the woman on the condition that she would not commit a crime over the course of the next five years and will defray the damages she caused. "The health of her 9-year-old son is continuously deteriorating and demands round-the-clock care. When considering the application for a pardon, the president took into account the difficult situation of the family and the negative consequences the separation from their mother would have on the children," reads the text. The woman is a mother of four.
