Kazimir expresses interest in Eurogroup chairmanship

Slovak Finance Minister Peter Kazimir (Smer-SD) at a Eurogroup meeting in Brussels on Monday confirmed that he was interested in running for the post of chairman of the group of euro zone finance ministers, although his bid has not been made official. The vote is scheduled for December and is aimed at finding a replacement for Jeroen Dijsselbloem, with the new Eurogroup chief set to assume the post in January. "We're due to hold talks within the political family of Socialists and Social Democrats, of which I am a member," Kazimir said.
