Former Polish PM and current MEP Beata Szydlo's rejection as a candidate to head the EP's Committee on Employment and Social Affairs breaches earlier agreements, Poland's ruling party leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski told PAP on Tuesday. Kaczynski, who leads Poland's government party Law and Justice, said Szydlo's rejection for the commission chair was "the price she had to pay for representing a Catholic country," and stressed that this was unprecedented in the EP.
