The floods that hit the Tatra National Park (TANAP) and Pieniny National Park in July caused damage amounting to 1.2 million euros in the forests alone, while the cost for removing the aftermath will be even higher, Martina Petranova from TANAP State Forests said on Thursday. According to her, the largest calamity was seen in the Javorova Dolina valley, where the flood damaged bridges, roads, tourist pathways and drinking water sources for the mountain villages of Tatranska Javorina and Zdiar.
