Poland has the highest inflation rate in the European Union with official figures putting it at 3.4 percent. The statistic from Eurostat could cast a cloud over an economy that so far proved to be one of the continent's most resilient to the damaging effects of the economic crisis caused by the pandemic. According to the Dziennik Gazeta Prawna (DGP) newspaper, the price index was kept in check by food prices but driven up by the cost of services.
