Hungary trade surplus at EUR 514 m in October

Hungary had a 514 million euro trade surplus in October, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said in a first reading of data on Monday. The surplus was up 300 million euros from the same month a year earlier. Exports rose by an annual 6.7 percent to 10.086 billion euros. Imports were up 3.6 percent at 9.572 billion euros. Trade with other European Union member states accounted for about 80 percent of exports and 74 percent of imports. For the period January-October, exports were up 4.8 percent annually at 91.980 billion euros and imports rose 5.5 percent to 87.578 billion euros. The trade surplus for the period stood at 4.402 billion euros, narrowing by 296 million euros from the same period a year earlier.
