Hungary and Slovenia on Monday launched a joint project to build a cycle trail along the path of the one-time Iron Curtain with 2.3 million euros in funding from the European Regional Development Fund. The funding for the programme, dubbed Iron Curtain Cycling, is part of 10 million euros in European Union support for cross-border developments in eco-tourism and cycle paths available to Hungary and Slovenia in the 2014-2020 funding cycle, said Eszter Vitalyos, Hungary's state secretary for EU developments.
