The Czech Republic is expected to have 7,800 Covid-19 cases at the end of April, a controlled return to normal life may begin and the health-care system needs to be restarted again, Ladislav Dusek, the head of the Institute of Health Information and Statistics (UZIS) told reporters on Thursday. "Based on statistical data, a controlled return to normal life can begin. A restart of the health-care system is especially needed," he said, adding that it was necessary to stop blocking half of the hospital intensive care beds for patients with Covid-19. Dusek said that last week, the total number of coronavirus cases at the end of the month was estimated at 10,000.
