Gunman opens fire at Nitra District Office

A gunshot was heard at the Nitra District Office on Wednesday morning, as a 65-year-old man pulled out a gun and fired one shot at the ceiling during a court process involving an offence, TASR has learned. Nitra regional police directorate spokesperson Bozena Bruchterova told TASR that two employees were in the room during the incident, but no one was injured. The gunman was disarmed and restrained. Following an assessment of the incident, the case was taken over by a specialised unit of the Police Corps Presidium.
