Polish gas monopolist PGNiG is conducting research talks with American companies regarding potential investments in liquefied gas terminals in the United States, the Polish government's commissioner for strategic energy infrastructure Piotr Naimski said on Monday. He added that PGNiG is investing in concessions on the Norwegian continental shelf. He said gaining access to a gas source in the US "fits in perfectly with [PGNiG's] strategy of diversification". Naimski mentioned for the first time that Polish companies could get involved in the construction of gas liquefaction terminals in the United States in mid-May, at the European Economic Congress held in Katowice, southern Poland.
