The construction of the sea-bed section of the Baltic Pipe will begin in the spring of 2020 and will last for 24 months, the Polish government's commissioner for strategic energy infrastructure Piotr Naimski said on Monday. He added that the project is being carried out without delay. The pipeline is planned to become operational in October 2022. "We are pleased with the cooperation of our partners in Denmark, Norway and Sweden, as well as in Germany," Naimski said, adding that all the permits necessary for the pipeline construction have been obtained. "There is no threat to the construction schedule of this gas pipeline," he stressed. Naimski noted that the pipeline's route will be decided in June.
