Gov't wants to protect Polish firms against foreign takeovers

The government is working on regulations to prevent foreign takeovers of strategic Polish companies, the Rzeczpospolita daily reported on Wednesday. A list of sectors where mergers and acquistions will require the government's approval should be announced within days, the newspaper wrote. The companies could be granted permission to suspend quotation long term or even to be delisted, according to unofficial information.
