German chancellor to attend Polish WWII ceremonies

German Chancellor Angela Merkel will attend the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II in Warsaw on September 1, Polish presidential spokesperson Blazej Spychalski told private TV broadcaster Polsat News on Wednesday. "We want the ceremonies marking the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of WWII to be attended by as many representatives of other countries, our closest allies, as possible - we're talking about EU and NATO country leaders," Spychalski said.
