The future president of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), Witold Banka said in Lausanne on Monday that the decision to ban Russia from taking part in the world's top sporting events, including the next Summer and Winter Olympics, was taken unanimously. Banka, who will assume the post on January 1, 2020, thanked the investigating department for its work and effort. He also said that the Monday decision will strengthen WADA's authority. Russia was banned from the world's top sporting events for four years on Monday, including the next Summer and Winter Olympics in Tokyo in 2020 and Beijing in 2020, for tampering with doping tests. The sanctions imposed on Moscow were supported by 12 members of the WADA executive committee.
