Foreign ministry calls invasion of Czechoslovakia unacceptable act of aggression

August 21st, 2018

The invasion of Czechoslovakia by the armies of five Warsaw Pact countries led by the Soviet Union, and the occupation of a sovereign state whose citizens were seeking ways out of accumulated problems in a democratic way, had serious consequences for our society, the Foreign and European Affairs Ministry stated on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the beginning of the occupation. The ministry views this "allied" intervention in Czechoslovakia as an unacceptable act of aggression.
