The leaders of five foreign academies support the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAV) in its current critical situation, SAV spokesperson Monika Hucakova told TASR on Friday. Chairs of academies of sciences from the other Visegrad Four (V4) group countries (the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland), joined by their peers from Austria and Slovenia, have expressed their support for SAV. "Foreign academies of sciences jointly appeal to the Slovak Education, Science, Research and Sport Ministry to enrol SAV in the public research institutions (VVI) registry with effect as of July 1, as stipulated by law," said Hucakova.
