For the People pushing for targeted sanctions, help for Belarusian citizens

The violence inflicted by the Belarusian regime on its citizens is "unacceptable", Veronika Remisova, head of the For the People party, said on Tuesday. Remisova's party is pushing for targeted sanctions against the perpetrators of the violence and for positive support for Belarusian citizens; for example, in the form of student scholarships. "The people of Belarus have a right to choose their leadership in free and fair elections," Remisova said. "We must do our utmost to help them to succeed. The most effective approach is a unified effort by the entire European Union."
