First hospice for mentally disabled people opens in Prague

August 30th, 2019

A two-bed room and eight one-bed rooms for mentally disabled people in the terminal phase of life will be opened in Prague's Sulicka Home on Monday as the first such facility in Czechia, the Home director Lenka Kohoutova told media today. The Sulicka Home offers beds and protected housing to people with mental and combined handicaps. It cares for clients from the age of three. It will occupy about a half of the beds designated for dying patients with its own clients. The Prague City Hall has subsidised the project with 72 million crowns.
