A lawmaker of ruling Fidesz has called on parliament's agricultural committee to look into alleged illegal deals involving state-owned land by opposition LMP lawmaker Akos Hadhazy. Balazs Gyorffy, the head of the National Chamber of Agriculture, said in a letter to committee head Sandor Font that the committee should examine the suspected fraud involving Hadhazy and his family in the auctioning of farmland under a government's scheme over the past years. Gyorffy told MTI on Wednesday that the chief public prosecution is said to have launched an investigation into the matter on a criminal complaint submitted by the National Land Fund.
