In an interview to daily Mlada fronta Dnes (MfD), former Czech president Vaclav Klaus condemned the expulsion of three Russian diplomats from Prague over the Skripal case and the extradition of Russian alleged hacker Yevgenyi Nikulin to the United States. Klaus said the cases in question were political in nature and benefitted those "who want to start a new Cold War". Last week, three employees of the Russian embassy in Prague were expelled as part of a coordinated reaction of the western allies to Russia's alleged role in the poisoning of former double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter in Britain. Also last week, Czech Justice Minister Robert Pelikan decided to extradite Nikulin to the US, where he is suspected of having committed massive cyber-attacks on social networks and computer systems.
