Ex-imam given 14.5 years in jail for terrorism

Former Prague imam Samer Shehadeh will spend 14.5 years in prison over terrorism charges, the Prague Municipal Court decided, confirming the plea bargain concluded by Shehadeh and the prosecution, which extended his previous sentence from 2020 by 4.5 years. Last May, the appeals High Court in Prague upheld a ten-year prison sentence given to Shehadeh for joining a terrorist group and financing terrorism.
