European Council head and former Polish PM Donald Tusk on Monday in Warsaw testified before a parliamentary commission set to investigate the so-called Amber Gold shadow bank scandal around a financial pyramid scheme in Gdańsk, north Poland. Tusk is the final witness to appear before the commission. Ahead of the hearing Tusk said he had not prepared any statement and would only answer questions. Among others, Tusk told the commission that as prime minister he was first notified about irregularities at Amber Gold at the turn of May and June 2012, although Poland's special services had known about it as early as the preceding year.
