Poland and the Czech Republic should strongly stress their lack of consent to the transfer of EU funds from Eastern to Southern Europe, Polish Sejm (lower house) Speaker Marek Kuchcinski said in Prague on Thursday. "This would happen at the expense of our countries and the Visegrad Group, Kuchcinski told a press conference after a meeting with Radek Vondracek, the speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech parliament. The two politicians agreed that Poland and the Czech republic should focus on steps aimed at maintaining the current EU budget for the cohesion policy and common farm policy (CAP). Kuchcinski stressed that Poland and the Czech Republic should strongly stress their lack of consent to the transfer of EU funds from Eastern to Southern Europe. "There are such plans," he said.
