Ethnic-Hungarian writer Lajos Grendel dies at 70

Well-known ethnic-Hungarian writer Lajos Grendel has died at the age of 70, his son Gabor Grendel, who serves as a member of the Slovak parliament for the opposition OLaNO party, said on Facebook late on Tuesday. A co-founder of the Kalligram publishing house, Lajos Grendel also served as editor-in-chief of a Hungarian-language magazine bearing the same name. He received many awards for writing fiction and several books on history, which were also translated into Slovak.
