Epidemiologist Madar resigns as health minister's adviser

August 24th, 2020

Epidemiologist Rastislav Madar has told CTK that he has left Health Minister Adam Vojtech's working team for quarantine restrictions relaxation at his own request and that he informed Vojtech about his decision on Friday. The task of the Madar-led team was to provide Vojtech with expert positions on how to gradually soften anti-coronavirus measures and return life in the Czech Republic to normalcy after the spring restrictions such as the closure of schools and most shops and services. Madar, an expert at the Epidemiology and Public Health Protection Institute at Ostrava University's Medical Faculty, has led the minister's working team since the beginning of April.
