US-based software engineering and IT consulting company EPAM Systems inaugurated a development centre in Szeged, in southeast Hungary on Thursday. EPAM has been operating in Hungary for ten years and now employs more than 1,500 software developers in Budapest, Debrecen and Szeged, said managing director Bence Vinko. Speaking at the centre's inauguration, Peter Szijjarto, the foreign affairs and trade minister, said the new development centre was the result of a strategic agreement signed by the government and EPAM in August 2016.
