The fight against drought and for better air quality and forests in the Czech Republic are the biggest challenges for the Environment Ministry, Minister Richard Brabec, who, keeping the post since 2014, will become the longest-serving head of a ministry on Monday, has told CTK. The biggest challenge at present and in future is to retain water in landscape, which requires a "puzzle" of thousands of steps that complement each other, including the revitalisation of rivers and streams, renewal of ponds and a change in the landscape structure by fragmenting vast fields, Brabec said.
