Duda debate to be highlight of Poland's UNSC presidency

An open debate chaired by Polish President Andrzej Duda will be the focal point of the Polish chairmanship of the UN Security Council (UNSC), Poland's foreign ministry told PAP. A discussion on "Maintenance of international peace and security; Upholding international law within the context of international peace and security," is scheduled for May 17, the ministry said. The Middle East, African, European and Asian issues are also to be addressed during the debate led by the Polish president. Later, on May 22, Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz will hold a ministerial debate on the protection of civilians, to be attended by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
