Driver of Czech lorry on Genoa's collapsing bridge survives

A lorry of the Prague-seated SPED-IT haulier fell from the Morandi Bridge which collapsed in Genoa on Tuesday, but the driver survived the accident, Czech Television has reported and the company confirmed the information to CTK. The bustling motorway bridge collapsed at about 11:50 CEST. Italian authorities have reported 22 dead so far, but the death toll is expected to rise. SPED-IT executive Vaclav Zazvurek told CTK that the Czech driver is alive, conscious and speaking.
