Czechs, Germans cooperate to prevent border closure over Covid-19

A Czech-German cross-border group has been cooperating on ways to prevent further border closures over the coronavirus pandemic, similar to that in April, Saxony Minister-President Michael Kretschmer said during his talks with Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis in Liberec on Friday. He told journalists that this spring's border closure, aimed at stemming the spread of coronavirus, was inevitably necessary. "The practice should be different in the future. Lower-level officials have been working on it in the past weeks," Kretschmer said, adding that he expects concrete conclusions to arise soon.
